About This Project

Richmond Public Library is excited to once again celebrate National Library Week! This year, the theme is “Connect With Your Library” and we are launching this special project in an effort to connect our patrons and their stories with other library lovers.

We envision that this community-created book will be a collection of patrons’ stories describing how Richmond Public Library has impacted their lives.  It will feature the diverse experience and voices of our community members, and we hope it will serve as a focal point for shared local memories for all to read and reflect upon.

To participate in this project, you do not need to be a published or professional writer. Simply follow the writing prompts and write as honestly and directly as you are able. These stories will be compiled by the library and published online in our Biblioboard database.

Please note that there is no guarantee that your work will be included in the anthology, and the library reserves the right to edit your submission for grammatical standards and available space. By submitting your story, you also understand that this is not a royalty paying program, and that you are participating as a volunteer.

You will receive a confirmation email when you complete the submission form. If your work is selected, you will be notified when your story is published.

On behalf of everyone at Richmond Public Library, we thank you in advance for being part of this exciting project.
